What a coincidence, two years later and were closer than ever Also your impression is on point
A mediaeval fantasy about a war between family is not the place to look for comedy
#HouseOfTheDragon is different according to GRRM he pitched DoD to HBO bcoz he wants the more accurate version of events to finally be told in tv series format, since the book was written by 3rd party pro-greens based on rumors/hearsay from people over the years & may not have actually witnessed a true accounting. So, George said the source material is highly biased against team black & very UN-reliable.
You want jokes, go watch Seinfeld
Done and done! I still want more jokes in the dragon show, though.
I subbed a while back due to your in depth HotD analysis. The ONE thing that bothered me was rhe pretentiousness presented that most book readers carey with them... I see that hasnt really gone away, despite you basically being completely correct about Rings of Power, it seems your consumption of media property is too inteisncially tied to nostolgia or your own identity. Changes are ok and often good. While they can also be equally terrible. High risk high reward
I was like they're not gonna casually drop daeron's name and not show him right? 😂
I haven’t read blood and fire but Game of thrones has funny parts and joke’s written in time from time, I don’t see blood and fire having jokes sprinkled in because it’s a history book and not written from the perspective of the characters
Hugh is daemon and viserys cousin. Which means hes rhaenyra's first cousin once removed. Hughs daughter was all of rhaenyras kids second cousin
So in theory. Tessarion would be no bigger that Arrax when he died, if shes only now big enough to fly with a rider
Damn, that's hackneyed. "Everybody who lived between 500 and 1500 AD was filthy and prone to hysterics."
who let this be touched and felt up and so poorly written. you sick bastards nothing is safe anymore
LOL
Yeah Aegon ii is my favorite character, but I absolutely hate the direction the show writers decided to take with his Relationship with his brother Aemond.
They destroyed a classic.
Tom has such incredible range and is vastly underrated as an actor. He did a phenomenal job as Aegon and i can’t wait to see how he evolves more into season 3
So funny that americans cannot pronounce the names properly 😂
Jaehaerys and Alysanne had 13 children, 9 lived to be adults. Saera was their ninth child. She was mischievous and rebellious, but charming and Jaehaerys made excuses for her. She played pranks like breaking into the white tower and dying all of the Kingsguards cloaks pink. But her pranks got more dangerous , and one against the court jester Tom Turnip went bad. In the fallout Saera's friends were questioned and things came out. Seara had seduced 3 young heirs to lordships. Saera defiantly asked her father to allow her to marry all three like King Maegor had with his wives. Jaehaerys had her confined to her rooms. After she escaped and tried to steal a dragon, he sent her to the Silent Sisters to learn humility, but she fled Westeros and went to Lys. She became a prostitute, and it was a huge scandal. She pretended to be a novice of holy orders and let men seduce her. The church was scandalized. When Alysanne wept that Lys had turned her daughter into a whore, Jaehaerys was said to say that she was one already. Seara amassed wealth and later moved to Volantis where she had a pleasure house and became a rich and powerful woman. She had a number of children of different fathers, one was fathered by the Triarch. 3 of her kids came to the coucil of 101 to lay claim to the Iron Throne that went to Viserys. So the show has changed this somewhat, as it seems to be saying that Hugh's mother stayed in Westeros and became a commoner after her downfall.
Saera owned the pleasure house...
Still doesn't make her not a h0 tho, so I understand why the son is embarrassed. It's like having a "self-employed" mom driving around with her car full of ad stickers for her lonelyfans account. (This was an actual case)
Downvote, because Fuck Everyone trying to better Terry Gilliam's masterpiece with Sweet Baby DEI Woke Bullshit. Fuck your mediocrity.
It's true that ROP deviates more from the source material than other adaptations basically because they aren't even adapting an specific book but stories and characters mentioned in the appendices. But tbh to say you see "almost nothing" of the source material is an exaggeration
Time Bandits deserved to be left in peace. You cannot out do what is already a classic. Taika is really missing the ball lately.
Saera Targayan was the daughter of Jaehaerys, and Baelon the Brave was her brother. He was the second adult son of Jaehaerys & the father of King Viserys I and Daemon, King consort of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryan. He was also the father of a bastard daughter who was the mother of Hugh the Hammer. Ulf the White is also the son of Baelon the Brave, so it seems after the death of his sister-wife, Princess Alyssa Targaryan (or before, who knows), he frequented the Street of Silk to satisfy his base needs. The result are a plethora of Targaryan bastards. Hell, some of them could be Daemon's or even King Viserys I from when they were young.
Tbh this whole story of Baelon having bastards is the most illogical for me. Most possible is before he married his sister Alyssa, because he was described as a loyal husband who even after her death took no woman to bed. He became depressed after she died. So fathering bastard after that seem totally out of character. I bet Ulf just lied about all that while he was drunk. And it makes more sense that Hugh is from the line of Saera or even directly from a bastard of Jaehaerys. From what is know, Saera´s sons even came forth to be voted as king in the great council 101.
Spies everywhere
An now we have our daemon back our rogue Prince doing what he does best
Yup, I feel like I'm the only one who loved the finale despite disliking last seasons finale. I really thought this season dragged and had flaws but most of the scenes here were really a return to form and worth it. If the writers can do better on the pacing I think the character arcs will be better than Game of Thrones. I was less annoyed by this being less action-filled by the end since I had already waited 4-5 years for the Dance to be adapted.
@@crystall.411The character arcs will never be better than im Game of thrones and the only reason because these characters are weaker and simple.
i hated so much of the leaks and the finale with the amazing score felt like they were trying to manipulate me into feeling hype when they've butchered so many characters. The writers wanted certain ppl to interact but they failed to do it in a way where it didn't compromise everything one certain character believed in from season 1. This entire season I constantly felt the hand of the author trying to force me to believe things about characters that weren't actually shown throughout their arcs. Gorgeous music, amazing acting and beautiful cinematography against inconsistent writing just feels like I'm being gaslit :'(
HOTD changes are weird and bad but it still bears some resemblance to the overall plot. ROP has almost nothing consistent with Silmarillion
Nettles is a Targaryen bastard

That looks awful.

Personally I don't care I just want to see season 2

I was thinking this one would have Alicent's red hair. I could see that would explain sending him away while keeping the Targaryen looking three close
Season 2 is agonizingly boring. -a Jane Austen 18th-century romance TV series would be more exciting than this slop. They are trying to ride on the coat-tails of the legendary epic Game of Thrones, but are falling well short. Don't get me wrong, Season 1 of HotD was far better than Season 2. lol, even Rhaenys and her dragon Meleys decided to kill themselves off by episode 4 of season 2. HBO, and the entire HotD teams, including R.R.Martin should be ashamed of this politico-socio-agendized stillborn mess. 🤮
Holy shit people are complaining about this show? Man it must suck making anything these days... no matter how good it is you'll get crowds of babies crying about it. omg go away
Felt Jace's reaction was un-needed drama. It seems like his legitimacy could be questioned just as much by a dragonrider of noble lineage than a bastard dragonrider. A dragonrider of noble lineage with remote Targaryen ancestry who wants to question his legitimacy may have even more support than a bastard. It will be interesting to see how far the show goes with regard to interrogating feudalism/monarchy/classism
it's not JUST his legitimacy as a bastard dragonrider per se. he's pretty aware that every lord on the team black is backing specifically his mother and their oaths to viserys because of her being trueborn targaryen, but if she dies those oaths die with her and they're not gonna back him. that's why he freaks out every time she puts herself in danger. he's hurt here because rhaenyra has refused to talk about his bastard status his whole life. she never fought for him as a bastard but always tried to pass him and his brothers as trueborns. so now suddenly when she needs, bastards are good enough and useful for her, it's pretty hurtful. there's also a lot of self-loathing in Jace when his mother keeps denying a half of him as if it's something shameful.
@@iamai_iggs "he's pretty aware that every lord on the team black is backing specifically his mother and their oaths to viserys because of her being trueborn targaryen, but if she dies those oaths die with her and they're not gonna back him" If this is the case then it seems his legitimacy would be questioned even more if a noble with Targaryen heritage becomes a dragonrider and decides to vie for the throne. " he's hurt here because rhaenyra has refused to talk about his bastard status his whole life." THIS is the conversation that I would have liked to see between them rather than him misdirecting his self loathing/anger towards other bastards and trying to preserve his standing in a bad system
Every episode in season two has been so slow and boring. There’s one episode left, and I feel like I want to jump onto oncoming traffic instead of watching it.
The whole season is just a filler by design.. They’ve literally written a season where nothing happens in order to hype up the next one, 8 episodes which will only end with a cliff hanger.
Literally only episodes 5 and 6 were slow.
It is not the slowness that is a problem, but the repetition of plot points that have already been laid out in previous episodes. There is just too much plot redundancy that prevents the show from being truly compelling.
@@anotheryoutubeuser yeah… and most of the repetitiveness was in episodes 5 and 6
@@levilevi9621 Yeah, but I think there has been a tendency to overemphasise plot points even before these two episodes. In fact, episode six and seven are the only episodes besides episode two that I found to have a consistency in the writing department.
@@anotheryoutubeuser strong disagree. 5 and 6 had boring dialogue. I thought writing of episode 2 was excellent. No one was talking about it being repetitive in episodes 1-4.
@@levilevi9621 I only really enjoyed episode two, six, and seven. The battle for Rook's Rest was also really good.

I disagree a non Targarean (or targarean relative) bonding with a dragon and being a dragon rider goes against all previous logic so ITS NOT JUST A GREAT GREAT STORY. its a moronic a$$ pull
